Shifters

Str - 1, Dex - 1, Wis - 1
Suggested Alignment: Neutral or Chaotic

Shifter creatures or commonly known more as were-creatures are the result of a disease passed by bite or scratch to other beings such as Humans, Elves, Orcs, and Dwarves. All other creatures are immune to this disease even as a hybrid. They are a creature whose life revolves around the moon, breaking from their skin as the beast that infected them. In their normal societies they once belonged in, they are often viewed as a disease, shunned or even killed to prevent more getting infected so they strive to keep their secret, hiding in the woods when they feel the moon's power stir in them. Orcs possibly being the only society to not shun their corrupted brothers and sisters, recognizing the strength they now possess.

The were-beast is a formidable creature, losing its sanity during full moons, it is hard to maintain in the crazed state. Accompanying this is a healing factor, resolving most wounds quickly if not completely by the next full moon. Only after extensive work and coming to terms with their new infection can a person control the bestial impulses better than that of a newly infected.

Other were-beasts however tend to form their own societies once they find one another. The disease, if offspring are produced, is passed down creating untamed children until their parents can show them the way.

Their weaknesses are that of a plant called wolfsbane or Monkshood, detectable by smell and irritating their noses, where a touch becomes a rash, and if it penetrates the body by any means is often fatal. Another fault to the beast is silver, less detectable and causes burns on impact. Along with the burn, it slows or even stops their accelerated healing meaning ingesting or being infected with any amount could kill.
