So it comes up that some times not everyone knows what to wear or look like in this setting. As this site will remind a few times, Novus is not a sex sim, fetish wear and parts are not approved as we do want to retain some realism. No one would be wandering the streets in a gimp suit in medieval England or at least not with out extreme backlash. As well as things to keep in mind for races. Some races like demons and fae are predisposed to dress a little flirty or at least just a bit more free while creatures like humans, elves, dwarves, celestials might choose more modest forms of clothing and appearances.

We understand sex is a thing, there are places for it on the sim to aid in that if story leads that way. We do not want to inhibit that freedom but again: Succubus doing her thing? Yes. Human in a gimpsuit in basically old world england? not so much.

Below are some rules for the sim here to retain the theme as it is MEDIEVAL before fantasy.

Any of these rules can be enforced at the administration's discretion. If you are unsure about your appearance please contact an admin for an av check.

1. Please research your race. Please wear what is believable for your race.

2. We do have inclement weather here so do pay attention to the hud. If it says it's cold, best dress for it.

3. NO OVERSIZED GENITALIA. We have what we call the fist rule. If your family jewels are larger than your fist, it is not realistic outside of a horrible crippling disease or being a minotaur.

4. No over sized breasts. Yes women do have large breasts but the real ones usually come with being big all over and not looking like they're filled with air. If you can not find realistic parts, don't use them!

5. We know the herm thing but again, please. Realism. Don't wave it around for all to see, it's rather off putting, tuck it away and let it be a surprise if you are so inclined to play something like that.

6. In addition to rule 5, genital armor is banned. Codpiece in pants good, codpiece and nothing else bad.

7. Dress for the role you have. Certain kinds of workers and levels of civilization don't have things that others do. This goes hand in hand with playing your IC money realistic too, no one just has a bunch of gold (aside from dragons and even then good luck convincing them to spend it)

8. We do not get strict about things that can't be helped like a small annoying zipper on the back of a dress you just can't hide or on the inside of a boot. little things like that are ok, we get it, you can only use what SL gives you but do not have OBVIOUS denim or zippers or latex. If your corset zips up in the front? can't wear it. If there's a bunch of zippers over your boots, can't wear them. If it's a little too shiney for oiled up leather then please don't use that piece of clothing. etc etc etc (again ask for an av check or send an admin a MP link to something you're looking at buying for staying safe)

9. NO FURRIES: what this means is while we warmly welcome those of bestial appearance, this does not open the door to those of a toony variety, cell shading, eyes larger than a human fist, random unnatural/hyper coloration. If you are concerned about your character crossing the line, you may IM an admin and ask for a check BUT BE PREPARED FOR NOTES TO BE MADE TO CHANGE IF IT IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Disallowed NOTE: We have eased our stance to animal players due to what is available on MP vs the prices of things, we still ask you meet us as half way as possible, things mentioned below are disallowed in their extremes as the non extremes do exist. Again, Novus is not a fetish sim.

• Nothing copy written, no you can't be batman, the witcher or harry potter. If it's from another story, book, game etc, it can not be played here. Classes exist like the witcher class but you may not be in any way related to characters from the game for example as that gets really awkward for a bunch of people to claim they are all descended from Geralt.

Due to our lack of application to play here, avatars are subject to a ruling from admins for size and appearance. We do often try to meet a player halfway and help them figure out what would be acceptable.
