GETTING STARTED

Grab your HUD from the blue orb in the landing point, read through the website and make sure you stay in line with all the rules, find the portal that would suit your character's starting point and dive in!

Things to do on your first visit

  • We recommend creating a new character and not starting with one you've invested a whole lot of time in due to starting out as level one, that can be frustrating when your character was a general or something strong in their last home.

OR

  • If you want to keep an old character, give them a reason to be "weak" say the travel was long, you didn't pack enough supplies so your character was starved and needs to work to regain strength, or maybe they got attacked and injured on a trail on their way here or perhaps the ship they were on sank and they have been adrift at sea until someone picked them up after they got the scurvy or if you came by magical means, the portal your character made was a bit stronger than expected and sapped all their energy so they need to relearn and reteach themselves what they lost. The possibilities are endless and not that horrible. (please really consider this, you show us your true colors when you complain about not keeping your levels from other sims. Everyone started out at 0, now it's your turn.)

  • Find your possible lead! On all the faction pages we show who leads what, on all the guild pages as well. Also, in the faction pages we define where certain races are TYPICALLY found. This does not mean you have to conform but if you want to be with other humans or elves or beasts, best follow where there might be a majority of them.

  • Find a guild to join! You can join for the EXP prospect or just the fact that guilds are great places to find rp as they extend to everyone.

  • Last but not least, just RP! ask the ooc group if anyone wants to rp or just walk up to someone on the street. We're all shy here so no excuses, if you want it, then go get it.

SET UP

Your hud helps you RP and track your characters EXP growth, allows you to emote and display simple facts in the titler above your head. Things to NOT put in your titler is:

  • Your race

  • Your class

  • Your abilities

  • Your age

Basically anything another character (not the player) can not see on first looks. by putting all that in your titler, you take away things to RP about, remember FOIC: Find Out In Character. Your character is allowed to make wrong guesses or wrong assumptions. No one is perfect and your character should definitely not be perfect. Make mistakes and live a little. Things TO include in your titler is

  • Your character's name so they can be found in a crowd

  • Any obvious smells

  • Any obvious change in appearance IE. injuries for healers to help with or something changed for other characters to be curious about

  • Simple titles if you have them in factions or guilds
