Elves

Elves are humanoid beings who can be recognized by their elongated ears and beautiful sharp features. Physically they can range from very short to very tall, but are slender or lightly muscularly toned. Elves can have many different skin types ranging from gold, pale, tan, purple, blue, to even black or gray as drow. While elves are known to be passionate inwardly about their skill, people, and crafting, they tend to outwardly show much emotion in a public setting. You will find none more polite stereotypically, than an elf. There are exceptions to this however, especially with a more forest dwelling elf such as the wood or wild elf who can be a little more primitive. Eye color can also range in various colors but are typically known for their blue and green eyes. The attributes that make elves stand out the most is their keen sense of sight and hearing as well as their speed and agility. Despite stereotypes, elves can come in all alignments.

Creation Story

Like all the creatures, elves were created by the twelve. The boundless spirit, Passion and The keeper of order, their father, Wisdom. Wisdom knew that Passion would be eager to create all manner of beings and that such enthusiasm and power should be tempered. Thus Wisdom entreated Passion to make beings who could adapt to the fast-paced needs of living things, but still live long enough to wisely consider the effects of them. The Elves, as Compassion named them, were thus born of Wisdom and Passion for this purpose. To Safeguard all living things and guide the many creatures towards harmony.

Place in the World

Scrolls, books, and markings on old architecture tell of two sister cities. Before the veil of mist to the west was lifted, the elves took up settlement on the upper territory of the mountain, called Auroris. There they flourished but felt as though there was something more out there for them to yet discover. Even though they got along well with the humans, it did not feel like home. Around the time that the three rulers of the mountain stepped forth to rule over the slums, the, median , and the uppercity, the elves knew it was time for them to move on. To have a non elf ruling over them was simply not something they could tolerate. Thankfully the Twelve must have been heeding their prayers because not long after, the veil to the west did lift and the sister city of Auroris was discovered. With an elven hand, the gate was opened and the spell on the Aembir Ashire was lifted. A botanical city that had been left suspended in time by magic until elven hands once more opened it's gates. The elves explored the city and found it to be what they had been searching for all this time. Soon they made their new home there, in the quiet peacefulness of the Aembir Ashire to the west.

Aembir Ashire is said to have been created because the sun god once fell in love with an elven maiden named Aembir. Their love was frowned upon by the twelve. The god of death took matters into his own hands and would put a stop to this unnatural love by stealing into the night and taking Aembir's soul, leaving her dead. Grief stricken, the god of sun took Aembir's body to this very spot we are, what was just snowy mountains at the time. This is where he would lay her body to rest, in the soil and snow. Compassion and Rebirth took pity on their brother and came up with a plan. Compassion took Sun's tears and poured them into a large chalice, laying it to rest in the middle of the shrine that marked Aembir's final resting place. Rebirth laid hands upon the spot where Aembir's body resting and from the elven maiden's body would begin to grow a great botanical garden. Trees, flowers, and exotic plants heated and grown by the warmth of the Sun God's tears. She would forever live immortalized as the garden, her whispers still heard in the blowing of the leaves. Aembir's people built their city above and around the garden to protect and preserve it, calling it The Aembir Ashire. It is often said that Rebirth visits the garden every morning and any damage done to the garden is restored to it's natural status as the sun rises and greets the day.
