One of the most popular variations of sylvan is the fae. Fae over the years have broadly stretched into all facets of life and civilization, city fae and forest fae, they all are the same in their cores. Fae are divided into two courts, the Seelie or summer court and the Unseelie or winter court. These courts differ in stances, in their society. They however share similar biology, they can disguise themselves in an illusion called glamour, this is however only visible, not physical, they can make it look like they are carrying a tree while in reality only lifting a twig.

They can not speak lies either, should a fae lie, their tongue will turn to ash, forever preventing them from lying again. This does not stop them from playing with their information, with holding and saying only certain facts to avoid trouble or toy with whoever it is they are speaking to.

 

The Seelie are often a giggly bunch born in the light and often in the warmer months. They oppose change, they do not use their glamour freely as it is seen as a precious gift. They wear their hearts on their sleeves unlike their darker cousins, the Unseelie. The Unseelie are more ruthless, vicious fae, born in the cold months, embodiment of darkness and often confused for demons. They are tricksters, do as they please, usher in change and have no qualms using their magic as much as they wish.

 

​Sylvans are weak to any metals containing iron. A touch can cause horrible burns and any getting inside becomes a poison that rots them away.
